Streszczenie: Czwórka dzieciaków, mieszkających w wiosce rodzin oficerskich utworzyła mały gang. W Izraelu zaczyna się kolejna wojna i większość mężczyzn została powołana do wojska, by bronić ojczyzny. Matki siedzą zmartwione przed telewizorami i słuchają nadawanych bez przerwy wiadomości a dzieciaki, których nikt nie pilnuje, wracają do swojego obozu. Ku swojemu zdziwieniu odkrywają dwóch żołnierzy, którzy zdezerterowali i używają obozu jako kryjówki. Dzieci próbują odzyskać skradzione terytorium, ale żołnierze nie poddają się. Rozpoczyna się bezlitosna walka pomiędzy stronami i żołnierze, pragnący uciec od wojny, trafiają na inną wojnę, która okazuje się równie niebezpieczna i krwawa.

Short description: Four young kids, who live in a village of military officers families, form a small gang. Another war begins in Israel, and most men are drafted to serve their country. The mothers are sitting worried in front of the televisions and listen to the constant news reports, while the kids, with no one to supervise them, return to their camp in the wild. To their surprise, they discover two soldiers who deserted their units, using their camp as a hideout. The children try to regain control over their stolen territory, but the soldiers hold their grounds. Ruthless struggle develops between the groups, and the soldiers, who sought refuge from the war outside, find themselves in another war, which turns to be as dangerous and bloody.

Reżyser: Yaniv Berman – urodził się w Hajfie. Ukończył program MFA na Wydziale Filmu i Telewizji Uniwersytetu w Tel Awiwie. Jego film krótkometrażowy Even Kids Started Small o uczniach, przejmujących władzę w szkole przeszedł selekcję CINÉFONDATION na Festiwal Filmowy w Cannes w 2006. Przez sześć lat realizował film dokumentalny o wojskowej kompanii rezerwistów w Siłach Obronnych Izraela –The Alpha Diaries. Kraina małych ludzi jest jego pierwszym filmem fabularnym.

Director: Born in Haifa, Israel, Yaniv is a graduate student from the MFA program at the Film and Television Department, Tel-Aviv University. His short film Even Kids Started Small, about school children taking over the school, was official selection of the CINÉFONDATION, Cannes Film Festival in 2006. He filmed for six years a documentary about a military company of reserve soldiers in the Israeli Defense Forces –The Alpha Diaries. Land of the Little People is his first narrative feature film.
