7th Jewish Motifs
International Film Festival
Nearly 300 films were submitted to the Festival from all over the world.
Selection Committee under Artistic director Andrzej Titkow selected 41 films to the competition:
· 26 documentaries
· 7 features
· 8 short films
Among them we had: 19 movies from Israel, 8 from Poland, 4 from USA and from Great Britain, 3 from Czech Republik, 2 from Germany and from France, and films from Belgium, Belarus, Denmark, Canada, Kazachstan, Russia, Serbia, Slovak Republic and Hungary (with co-productions).
It is a tradition that every year we present to you a retrospective of our Guest of Honour – outstanding artist whose life is linked to Jewish culture.
In 2010 we had the retrospective of director and scriptwriter Edward Żebrowski. We could see his most excellent films: ‘The Hospital of Transfiguration’, ‘Rescue’ and ‘In Broad Daylight’.
The Festival was opened by the representative of the Honorary Committee Andrzej Wajda and the member of the Program Board Józef Hen. It was closed by Józef Hen and the Director of the Festival Mirosław Chojecki.
After the screenings there were meetings with the authors of the films. Despite the difficulties caused by the ash could, most of our guests were able to come and participate in discussions with the viewers.
The Festival was accompanied by the exhibition of Małgorzata Florczyk:
“Two Pragues in Jewish Reflections”.
The Festival was organized by Jewish Motifs Association in co-operation with Media Kontakt and Gutek Film.
